"Unable to execute service method 'createFileName'" Error while Viewing Native File

Symptoms
After an upgrade from 7.5.2 to 10.1.3.3.3, when a user attempts to view the native file link for any piece of content within the Content Server, the following error is thrown:
Content Server Request Failed
Unable to download 'XXXXXX'. Unable to execute service method 'createFileName'.
(System Error: Runtime error: java.lang.NullPointerException
