Verity Fails To Full Text Index Adobe Acrobat Version 6.0 and Higher PDFs

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Using Verity 4.5.1 or Verity 5.5.x, Adobe Acrobat PDFs version 6.0 and higher that are checked into Content Server are getting indexed with metadata only. The Content Information page shows:
Full text index failed. Unexpected failure by Indexer.
Content has been indexed with Info only. Resubmit should only be performed if the problem has been resolved.
The server output indexer tracing shows:
Acrobat exception: 1073807365 The file is damaged and could not be repaired.
indexer 01.09 08:55:21.724 stderr Warn E2-0527 (Document Index): Document 1 (z7361635F303137333739): Stream error (-144) - SKIPPING
