Goal
Is there a RECOMMENDED way to startup/shutdown application servers in parallel? The customer is seeking to reduce the time required to start up and shutdown their Tuxedo applications. They are running several environments with over 200 Tuxedo application servers, each (single-machine configs, no MP). Starting up/shutting down these servers sequentially (as done by default by tmboot/tmshutdown) is very time-consuming. This significantly reduces system availability, especially when you want the application to fail over quickly between clustered machines. From an application point of view, there are no dependencies which would require a sequentialized startup/shutdown.
