RP/TUX 8.0 - authicesimp sanity test on AIX often hangs (Doc ID 772091.1)

Goal

On lcaix6, the authicesimp sanity test occasionally runs OK, but more often, it hangs. This has been observed over
several weeks. The isimpclt starts, and the ISL spawns the ISH, which makes it's initial ULOG entries, but nothing
else seems to happen. Nobody is consuming CPU time, so it's not an infinite loop situation. This is the only stack I
can get out of isimpclt using dbx:
