RP/TUX 8.1/TUX 9.0 - DeleteByTypeCode doesn't know about value types (Doc ID 776393.1)

Last updated on JULY 24, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo / Tuxedo / 8.1,9.0
Information in this document applies to any platform

A Tuxedo server receiving a valuetype from WLS (although could be another Tuxedo server) as a return type or output
argument that is then passed back to the client results in an exception occurring due to an unknown typekind in the
typecode interpreter's delete by typecode method. Need tests where a server calls another server and passes
valuetypes. Simple client to server tests will not encounter this problem as the stub and skeleton take care of the
memory handling.

The error can be easily reprodued using the WLS example found in the iiop/ejb/stateless directories. Have the
tuxclient call the Tuxedo server specifying the true parameter to indicate that the Tuxedo server should issue a
buyRemote method to WLS. Turning on ORB tracing will show the error as reported by the type code interpreter.

CONFIGURATION: Tuxedo 8.1 CORBA server
