RP/Tux 6.5 - can't install patch after su (Doc ID 776742.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 19, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo / Tuxedo / 6.5
Information in this document applies to any platform

Goal

Installation of a Tux 6.5 patch fails if the user has logged in with his "own" identity, then executed
"su - tuxusr" to acquire the identity of the Tuxedo administrator.

For example, the following scenario fails:
- login as tuxusr
- install Tux 6.5 GA
- login as usr1
- su - tuxusr
- mkdir /tmp/rp; cd /tmp/rp; gunzip -c < $patchfile | tar xvf -
- ./install
Enter owner for patch files:
tuxusr
Enter group for patch files:
tuxgrp
*** Error: uninstall must be in the current directory and owned by usr1

This problem occurs with Tux 6.5 on HP-UX 11.0.
