RP/TUX 9.1 - Metadata: Input syntax for parameter information needs to be enhanced to differentiate "byte" and "char" as different data types (Doc ID 777394.1)

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo / Tuxedo / 9,1
Information in this document applies to any platform

Goal

DESCRIPTION:
Given that Tuxedo Web service stack(SALT), ALSB TuxTransport and other Tuxedo peripheral components might face the
general XML / Tuxedo Typed buffer transformation issue, a set of uniform XML / Tuxedo typed buffer mapping rules are
necessary to make the behavior compatible among these products.

Now there may be two options of using Tuxedo FLD_CHAR in a FML/32 Typed buffer. One option is to carry an ASCII
compatible character, and another option is to carry [0x00 - 0xFF] 8 bit numeric that may beyond the visible ASCII
value scope. So need Metadata input syntax to be enhanced to let the customers define which option will be used.

CONFIGURATION:
Tuxedo 9.1
