RP/TUX 8.1/TUX 9.1 - BRIDGE process size hitting quota takes too long time to recover

(Doc ID 777435.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 04, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo / Tuxedo / 8.1,9.1
Information in this document applies to any platform

Goal

DESCRIPTION:
The problem is the time it takes for the BRIDGE to decide to dump a core.
With BBLQUERY=6 DBBLWAIT=2 and SCANUNIT=5, it takes about 5 minutes for the application to recover although you stop
loading the system.

What is most interesting is the output of

truss -u *::* -p <BRIDGE pid>

When the BRIDGE process "loops" (read: "ipcs -aq" shows repeatedly no messages are processed for
several minutes). It loops at the TUXEDO code level that could decide to handle things differently...

CONFIGURATION:
Tuxedo 8.1 RP 269 AIX 5.2 binaries on AIX 5.3
