Toggling the URL type setting within a WCI Content Source applies the setting to all new content brought into the portal. This article explains how to refresh previously submitted documents in the Knowledge Directory, when changing the 'URL type' of a Content Source.

Within the Content Source of every document submitted to the portal, the URL type setting determines whether or not to gateway the content when opening documents. This affects how the Open Document URL is constructed when new documents are submitted.

Toggling this setting only applies the changes to new content being brought into the portal. In some cases, portal administrators need to toggle this setting for existing documents in the directory which requires the document properties (specifically the Open Document URL) to be refreshed. This is easily accomplished by running one Document Refresh Agent.

The Document Refresh Agent refreshes the document properties, but only if the actual document has changed. Therefore we should consider the methods below.
