Steps to Maintain - WebCenter Content PDF Watermark - Oracle Universal Content Management 10.1.3 (10gR3)

PDF Watermark (PDFW) is an optional module used within Universal Content Management (WebCenter Content) to watermark converted documents. This article contains information to assist you with maintaining your installation.

Refer to this article when requiring updated information for Oracle Universal Content Management 10.1.3 (10gR3) - PDF Watermark. It will be continually updated for your convenience. The What's New and the Note Revision History sections will help you to identify what has been changed when the article is updated.

The remainder of this document provides information on what you need to do after installation, depending on the version or patches you may already have installed.

2. Check your Version Information

PDFW has been released as a number of 10g versions. You will also want to take note of the build version for your PDFW component. A number of different builds have been released, some as product downloads and some as patch upgrades for 10g. To identify the PDFW Component installed to the Content Server (7.7.2.x and above):

1. Log in to the Content Server as an Admin.
2. From the Administration screen choose "Configuration for your server".
3. Under the "Features and Components" section choose the "Enabled Component Details".
4. From the list of components look for PDF Watermark.

PDWF has been released with the following builds:

3. Review General information for Maintaining/Patching installations

It is strongly recommended that patch updates are first tested out in a development environment before applying a patch to the production environment.

Important: Check for Content Server patches. This article does not address all patches required for Content Server.

4. Perform the Maintenance Path for your installation

It is recommended that all users of the PDFWatermark component upgrade to the latest release. So the patching information in this article is based on the one path:

     PDF Watermark 10.1.3.x

 

4a. Steps for Maintaining/Patching PDFW 10g Builds

To maintain any PDFW 10.1.3.x build, apply the patches and updates listed in  Table 4a. Oracle Patches and Patch-sets for PDFW Builds.

5. Review other Patches Requirements

In addition to installing patches required for PDFW, make sure you have installed the updates for the core Content Server.
