INVALID USER Error when Using Multiple Realms in BPEL (Doc ID 780876.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 22, 2013

Applies to:

Oracle(R) BPEL Process Manager - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This problem can occur on any platform.

You have defined multiple realms in your $SOA_HOME\bpel\system\services\config\is_config.xml file and you have a BPEL process that assigns a human task to a user that belongs to the realm that is not the default realm.  When you add the human task to your BPEL project through JDeveloper, you were able to search for the user and assign the task to him.  However, when you run your BPEL process, the task does not get assigned and you get the following error:

"The task is assigned to an invalid user in realm myRealm"

Note: the  Default realm is defined in the is_config.xml file.  It is the realm that has the default="true" parameter in the <configuration> tag.
