Purpose
This FAQ discusses the FileStoreProvider component and is specific to this component.
This FAQ contains information on how to configure and troubleshoot the FileStore Provider component.
FileStore Provider is included with the 10gR3 release (10.1.3.x.x) of the Content Server (UCM).
Be advised that external partitions are NOT supported in 10g with all features. See <Bug 13934942> and <Bug 13102693> for information around this.
FileStore Provider introduces functionality which allows Content Server administrators to specify different locations for storing web viewable and vault files. This allows content to be distributed among many filesystems and removes the limitation of one weblayout and one vault directory.
FileStore Provider can also be configured to store content directly in the database.
Note: The File Store Provider allows for a large number of different configurations to be implemented with respect to content storage. This is an example to help with understanding the concepts of the File Store Provider. Administrators should read and understand the File Store Provider Installation and Administration Guide before implementing the File Store Provider component. These examples were set up on a Windows server using the Apache web server.
