Symptoms

An OC4J instance times out when trying to start .

The instance was starting until a change was made to the system.

When using opmnctl to start, an error similar to this will occur,

 

Changes

This could occur due to a number of changes:

  • Deployment of new or updated application
  • Configuration changes to an application
  • Updated JDK
  • Updated OS
  • Patches applied to the Application Server
