How to Connect to an EUS Database Using the 11g JDBC Thin Driver? (Doc ID 793673.1)

Symptoms

Connections to an Enterprise User Security (EUS) Oracle database using 11g JDBC Thin driver fail with the following error:

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
