How To Deploy ODI 10g Lightweight Designer on to WebLogic Server (Doc ID 819335.1)

Goal

Deploying Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 10g Metadata Navigator onto WebLogic Server works well but still getting error messages after deploying ODI 10g Lightweight Designer and try to log onto it.

For example:

The above is a very generic error that could occur due to any misconfiguration or mistake somewhere., and or oracledilwd war file needs to be repackaged and redeployed after data sources are defined and web.xml and repositories.xml are modified.  (Please see unpublished Bug 7483215.)

This Note shows an example of how to deploy ODI Lightweight Designer onto WebLogicServer 9.2  using the directory deployment approach. (The steps should also work fine on WebLogicServer 10g.)

As an example, will deploy ODI 10.1.3.5 Lightweight Designer onto the examples domain called 'wl_server' created by WebLogicServer "Quickstart Wizard." The configuration, log and shell script files related to the wl_server examples domain are to be found under: ORACLE_HOME/wlserver_10.3/samples/domains/wl_server.
