Symptoms

The WorkSpace only shows 1000 (or a fixed number of) instances. This might happen in the Inbox or in any other View. This happens when the View Filter is configured NOT to include Aborted and/or Completed instances (when the View Filter is configured to include Aborted and/or Completed instances the number of returned instances will ALWAYS be limited to a maximum amount).

It is important to note that in some cases you will also notice a drastic deterioration in the Engine performance. This could happen when many users are accessing the Inbox simultaneously. In this scenario, you will notice hundreds of ToDo Items of type Immediate in the Engine logs (with Debug level) like the following:

<D>, "Aug 9, 2010 3:17:48 PM", Engine, Main, <116> ET(71), "Executing item: IMMEDIATE Inst [<processIn>, -1,-1] Act [No activity] Proc [No Process] Due 1281385068000000]"
<D>, "Aug 9, 2010 3:17:48 PM", Engine, Main, <116> ET(71), "Executing item: IMMEDIATE Inst [<processIn>, -1,-1] Act [No activity] Proc [No Process] Due 1281385068000000]"
...

Where <processIn> is a number identifying a process. You might see many repetitions of this message for the same processIn and also other processIns intermingled.
