Oracle Fusion Middleware High Availability - Version 10.1.3.1.0 to 10.1.3.1.0 [Release AS10gR3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document discuss the installation of an AS Middle Tier onto an Active Passive Cold Failover Cluster against a virtual host name, so that the installation remains valid regardless of which is the active node in the cluster.

If the VIRTUAL_HOST_NAME Environment Variable is not correctly set during the installation preliminary steps, the install succeeds, but binds the installation to the active physical host.

This installation will function until switchover or failover occurs, after which various start failures will occur.

Can the AS install be reconfigured post-install to use the virtual host name?
