CTRL-C in Unix Terminal Where "oc4j -start &" Runs, Shuts Down StandAlone Oc4j (Doc ID 845366.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Containers for J2EE - Version: to - Release: AS10gR2 to AS10gR3
Generic UNIX

Once setting the Java Home and the Oracle Home :
export JAVA_HOME=/<your_jdk_path>
export ORACLE_HOME=/<your_Standalone_OC4J_path>
export J2EE_HOME=/ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home
OC4J is started using the command :
$ ./oc4j -start

There, it just stands out after being initialized : meaning that nothing happens.

Yet, there are times when on a production machine for example,
it is not possible to leave any terminal window opened and waiting .

Then, when doing CTRL-C, getting following messages on the screen:

09/06/18 15:48:01 Shutting Down OC4J...

Then the OC4J process is not running anymore.
