The JDBC OCI Driver Crashes the JVM After Upgrade to Version 10.2.0.x (Doc ID 852068.1)

Symptoms

The JDBC OCI driver crashes the JVM after the Oracle Client was upgraded to 10.2.0.x.  The following stack trace is obtained:
