Last updated on MARCH 29, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle(R) BPEL Process Manager 10g - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
The problem was indetified in SOA versions MLR#17 and MLR#8
***Checked for relevance on 21-03-2011***

When the input data has & characters in the payload, the parseEscapedXML fails with the following error:

XPath expression failed to execute.
Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is
"ora:parseEscapedXML(bpws:getVariableData('GetVariable','AQ_MESSAGE','/ns7:AQ_MESSAGE/XMLMESSAGE'))", the reason is FOTY0001: type error.
Please verify the xpath query.

Changing the function from ora:parseEscapedXML to ora:parseXML doesn't have any effect.

Applying <Patch 6502968> (unpublished Bug 6502968 was considered to be base bug for unpublished Bug 7563790) or applying Development's suggestions from Bug 7563790  didn't have any positive effect either.
