WebCenter Interaction - Portal Components Experiencing Authentication Errors Due To Missing Data In The LDAP_ENTRIES Table (Doc ID 880417.1)

Symptoms

This problem affects portal environments that use Microsoft SQL server.

The WCI directory service provides authentication information for several portal components, including Analytics.

Missing data in the LDAP_ENTRIES table will cause these portlets used with these components to fail. Authentication errors will be found in the component logs. In the case of Analytics the following error will be found in the analytics ui log -

ERROR WebAppManagerALI - Error while initializing Security settings. If you are using an LDAP server, verify that it is running correctly.
com.plumtree.security.AuthenticationException: Authentication failed: This may be caused by either invalid username or password values, or incorrect settings for the ldap properties and connection information in the configuration file - [Security:090304]Authentication Failed: User administrator

Changes

Setting up and scripting your directory service tables is required for the directory service service to function properly. The problem occurs when the portal's schema owner is not DBO, causing an error to occur when running the script that populates the directory service tables with data.
