Startup Times Take Longer When Using JRockit Versus Sun JDK (Doc ID 942649.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle JRockit - Version: R27.6 to R27.6 - Release: JRockit to JRockit
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When trying to start the WebLogic 10.3 Examples server with JRockit JDK, it is taking more time than with the SUN JDK.

Below are the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Install WebLogic 10.3 with the examplesServer (and both JRockit and Sun JDKs)
  2. Set JAVA_VENDOR=BEA (to use the JRockit JDK)
  3. Run the "wlserver_10.3\samples\domains\wl_server\startWebLogicEx.cmd" to start the examplesServer. Do this a few times to get an average startup time using the JRockit JDK.
  4. Set JAVA_VENDOR=Sun (to use the Sun JDK) and repeat step 3 to get average startup time using the Sun JDK.
