How To Change The Node Manager Listen Address (Doc ID 945324.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3.2 to 10.3.6
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Oracle Weblogic Server includes a Node Manager, which enables you to start, shut down, and restart Administration Server and Managed Server instances from a remote location. Although Node Manager is optional, it is recommended if the WebLogic Server environment hosts applications with High Availability requirements.

By default, node manager listens against the localhost on port 5556. This is suitable for most purposes and requires no specific configuration.

There may be circumstances, such as in a complex network environment, where it is required to configure Node Manager against a specific network card or NIC.

This note explains how to change the default nodemanager listener address of' 'localhost'.
