OAS 10.1.2 on HP-UX, OPMN " opmnctl stopall " Hangs and Fails to Stop / Shutdown All Components (Doc ID 946540.1)

Last updated on MAY 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.3.0 [Release AS10gR2]
HP-UX PA-RISC (64-bit)
HP-UX Itanium

Symptoms

The command "opmnctl stopall" intermittently hangs without returning an error

When it happens, from a different session you can see that all the OC4J instances are stopped but one which remains Alive. It usually happens with the same OC4J instance, but not always. Example 'opmnctl status' output:

As well as this, the stop request for this OC4J instance cannot be seen in the ipm.log nor in the OPMN log of the OC4J instance neither.

The OC4J instance process and the OPMN processes have to be manually killed (e.g using the Unix kill command)
