Liberation Font Aliasing For Unix Platforms With Outside In Technology (OIT) (Doc ID 951371.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 13, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Outside In Technology - Version 8.3.2 and later
Generic UNIX

Purpose

This article describes how to use the Liberation font set by aliasing commonly licensed fonts (Times New Roman, Arial, Courier New, etc.) to the appropriate Liberation font.

Scope

This article is intended for users running Outside In Export products with font embedding on a Unix server who do not have redistribution licenses for the original document fonts, and therefore want to control which fonts are substituted by PDF Export, perhaps mapping some of the unlicensed, original fonts to good open license alternatives.

This article applies to PDF Export, as well as HTML Export or Image Export users who use the Outside In internal GD rendering solution (SCCOPT_RENDERING_PREFER_OIT = TRUE) as an alternative to X on Unix.

Please refer to the product documentation for supported platforms for each product offering.
