Symptoms

ldapmodify fails to work with the moddn/modrdn changetype, and a entries are not being moved to a different location in the directory tree.

Various LDIF syntaxes return different errors

10.1.2.0.2 ldapmodify

$ORACLE_HOME/bin/ldapmodify -D "cn=orcladmin" -w Manager1 <dn: cn=user1,cn=users,dc=au,dc=oracle,dc=com
changetype: modrdn
newrdn: cn=user1
deleteoldrdn: 0
newsuperior: cn=Users, dc=us,dc=oracle,dc=com
