Web Folders Establishes Session As The Wrong User ID (Doc ID 953880.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 22, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Content Services - Version 10.1.2.0.0 to 10.2.1.0.22 [Release AS10gR2 to AS10gR3]
Generic Windows

Symptoms

Microsoft Web Folder establishes new session with the wrong user.  For example, from a single Microsoft Windows XP client create a Microsoft Web Folder in My Network Places using the Add Network Pace Wizard for one user ID (for example, user1).  Next, attempt to create a similar Web Folder to the same server using a different user ID (for example, user2).  This second connection does not prompt for a user because it uses the existing cookie stored in the "C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files" location.  Only user1 will have a connection via Web Folders.

If HTTPS is enabled then the second connection becomes confusing to the end user.  When you attempt to create the second connection you'll get prompted for the SSL handshake.  No matter what user ID used to answer the SSL challenge the Web Folder connection will continue to be the first user ID.
