Portal Home Page Displays: Failure of Server Apache Bridge

The following message is displayed to the user when accessing Oracle Portal 11g:

Failure of server APACHE bridge:
No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF.
Build date/time: Jun 19 2009 15:52:07
Change Number: 1013


WLS_PORTAL.out and WLS_PORTAL-diagnostic.log report the following:

ERROR: Repository Gateway error: Database Error: ORA=6502 ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
ORA-06512: at line 15

oracle.webdb.log.ServletLogger severe
ERROR: oracle.webdb.repository.service.RepositoryServiceException: Portal session creation failed.
oracle.webdb.log.ServletLogger severe


WLS_PORTAL.log reports the following:





Install Fusion Middleware 11g (Oracle Portal 11g). Confirm all is working well.
Reboot the server.
Restart the services and access Oracle Portal 11g.
