Goal

The goal of this document is to describe how to display iconic images in Forms 11g.

There is no significant difference in the way that iconic images are displayed in Forms 11g from earlier versions of Forms such as 10grR2.  The only significant difference is if one wishes to create a new virtually mapped directory which is mentioned in Method 4.

Method 1 is the recommended method as it is the easiest and takes advantage of jar file caching.

Using a text editor to modify Forms configuration files is not recommended. All changes should be made through the EM console for the installation. Forms configuration files can be found by:
  • Go to the EM Console http://machine.domain:port/em
  • In the left panel click on Forms > Forms
  • The Font and Icon Mapping option updates the Registry.dat file, and Web Configuration is used to modify the formsweb.cfg file.
