SOA Composite Fails to Compile with java.net.URISyntaxException (Doc ID 964717.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to compile a SOA composite with a B2B adapter referencing a deployed document definition on B2B, the build will fail and a the error will display the following:

Caused by: java.net.URISyntaxException: Illegal character in path at index 24: xsd/EDI_X12/4010/850/850 Def/X12_V4010_850.xsd
[scac] at java.net.URI$Parser.fail(URI.java:2809)
[scac] at java.net.URI$Parser.checkChars(URI.java:2982)
