Unable to Lookup EJB 3 Local JNDI Name From Application Event Listener Class (Doc ID 970051.1)

Symptoms

When trying to access an EJB 3 session bean from an application event listener class using local JNDI name, the following exception were seen (even though the application event listener class locates in the same jar file as the EJB):

SEVERE: Failed to locate Parser bean

Caused by: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: While trying to look up comp/env/ejb/Parser in .; remaining name 'comp/env/ejb/Parser'

However, when using remote JNDI name, it works fine.
