Applies to:Oracle WebCenter Interaction - Version 6.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
In AquaLogic User Interaction (ALUI) versions 6.1 and earlier, users could click on links to HTML documents in the Knowledge Directory and these files would open seamlessly in the browser (see <Document:862752.1>).
Subsequent WebCenter Interaction portal versions modified this behavior to adhere to accepted standards. Users of these later versions are now prompted to save the file or choose a local application with which to open it. Standards aside, many users prefer the seamless behavior and wish to revert back to it. This document will describe how to mimic the prior behavior with Oracle WebCenter Interaction (WCI) 10gR3 for non-gatewayed document URLs (e.g. http://<host>:<port>/portal/server.pt?open=18&objID=333&parentname=Dir&parentid=4&mode=2&in_hi_userID=1&cached=true). Gatewayed URLs will still prompt users to Save/Open.
