Purpose

WebLogic Portal has some features like Entitlements and Delegated Administration that make intensive use of WebLogic Server's Embedded LDAP server. Especially with a WebLogic Portal installation, file sizes for Embedded LDAP and heap size used for it can become very big.

This note provides internal details about WebLogic Embedded LDAP with questions like:

  • What are specific EmbeddedLDAP files meant for and where are they stored?
  • Why are certain files permanently growing in file size and how can they be truncated?
