Last updated on JANUARY 27, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Portal - Version 10.2.0 to 10.3.0
Information in this document applies to any platform.
IE6 or IE7

Symptoms

In the Portal Administration Console at the Page contents editor, portlet panels stay in fixed position while scrolling. This issue occurs only on IE causing some portlets inaccessible.

If you edit contents of a page in the Portal Administration Console and add more than 10, 12 portlets or books and save, it causes the scroll bar view in the browser to accommodate all the contents of the page. In both Internet explorer 6 and 7, if you scroll up or down the page 'Edit Contents', the contents are not scrolled with the screen.

Detailed Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Open Portal Administration Console using Internet Explorer browser 6 or 7.
  2. Under 'Portal Resources' --> Library --> Pages --> 'Create New Page' named test
  3. Open the page 'test' and 'Add Page Contents'
  4. Click the 'Add Contents' and select available portlets or books, and press  'Add' button.
  5. Repeat the last step and add the same portlet or book contents for 10 or 12 times.
  6. Press the 'Save' button, which takes back to 'Edit Contents' tab of page test.
  7. As the contents are added for more than 10 times, the scrollbar appears in the browser
  8. Scroll down and up, and you can see that the page contents are not scrolled with the screen.
