On Browser Refresh, Collapsed State Of JSR-168 Portlet Is Lost (Doc ID 978002.1)

Last updated on APRIL 01, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.2.0 to 11.1.1.2.0 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In WebCenter 10.1.3.4 a JSR-168 Portlet on a jspx page has been created with a fixed width and height. (width="305 px" height="200 px").
When collapsing the Portlet (not minimize/maximize from the Portlet Menu on the right hand side of the banner) and refreshing the page in the browser, the Portlet will have its original size again but the content is lost.

Without fixed width and height collapsing a Portlet and refreshing the page in the browser, there is inconsistent behavior depending on the browser:

-> Portlet stays collapsed in IE

-> in Firefox the Portlet sometime stays collapsed, sometimes reopens and
displays the content and sometimes expands and looses the content.

Changes

1. Create a WebCenter application
2. Create a jspx page
3. Add a JSR-168 Portlet onto the page
4. Run the page
5. Collapse the Portlet
6. Refresh the page in the browser
