Privileges and Group Spaces are Missing when Logging into Webcenter Spaces with mixed case OID Username
(Doc ID 978171.1)
Last updated on JANUARY 14, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.6.0 to 11.1.1.8.1 [Release 11g]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
On WebCenter Spaces 11.1.1.x, permissions are not evaluated correctly and groups/personal spaces are missing when a user logs in to WebCenter with a user name which does not case match with what is stored in LDAP server.
e.g. the issue occurs when the user in LDAP server is defined as <username> and the user actually logs in as <USERNAME>, <UserName>, etc.
If the user is also setup as an administrator, then logging in with case mismatch will not display the "Administrator" link.
Usually, after the user is logged in, the user name is displayed in lowercase case, but in this case the user name is displayed as it was entered at log in.
Changes
WebCenter/Web Logic server is configured to integrate with external LDAP server.
