OID LDIFWRITE Fails With Message: "Could Not Connect To The Database. Bus Error"

Symptoms
1. Copying (or migrating) production OID users to a new database.
2. Trying to save the current OID users to an LDIF file using ldifwrite.
The error message received: "Could not connect to the Database. Bus Error"
3. Several "user.ldif.sav" files are created (with serial numbers appended to the file name).
4. The ldifwrite.log file has these records:

5. The correct ODS schema password has been used. The wallet file has been recreated a couple of times.
