Depending on the browser you are using, you might experience inconsistencies in password behavior during an invalid login when a Basic Over LDAP authentication scheme is used. For instance, if the password policy specifies 5 tries and you have 3 possible attempts before a lockout, you might see an error on the third attempt informing you that authorization is required and the server could not verify that you are authorized to access this resource.
