Issue was found in WebLogic Server when the Admin Server was failing to discover the running managed servers when the admin server had been restarted on a remote physical machine during the failover and crash recovery process.
For example, a customer has a domain with an Admin Server and two managed servers on single physical machine. When the Admin Server failed over from this physical machine to another physical machine, it was not discovering the status of already running Managed servers. Servers were discovered automatically in WLS 8.1 but not in WLS 10.3.
Because of this issue, managed servers had to be restarted by providing a new Admin server URL.
The mechanism of discovering the managed server changed after Weblogic Server 8.1.
