Importing a SOA Application into SVN Fails With a "SOA MDS Store Validation" Error (Doc ID 987610.1)

Symptoms

Importing a SOA application into SVN fails with the following error:
Application1.jws - SOA MDS Store Validation
One or more metadata store location(s) configured in file:/Z:/Virtual Shared Folder/SOA Workspace/Application1/.adf/META-INF/adf-config.xml are invalid.
SOA project(s) will not compile! Please edit and fix metadata-store location(s).

When you restart JDeveloper, it displays the same error again, followed by an "Unexpected Error" as shown in Figure 2
