Symptoms

You are unable to browse to the WCI login page. The following message is displayed in the browser:

Error - The server has experienced an error. Try again or contact your portal administrator if you continue experiencing problems.


The following types of error message appear in a PTSpy trace:

9-9-2009 12:42:09.176 Warning OpenKernel.OpenHttp.Core devnet.plumtree.com PTSelectorThread_1313174751 com.plumtree.openkernel.impl.openhttp.core.PTRequest OnError() - Cancelling request to [http://hostname:port/imageserver/plumtree/portal/private/pagelayouts/header.html] because of exception.
com.plumtree.openfoundation.util.XPException: Connection refused (errno:239)


and:

9-9-2009 12:42:09.180 Warning OpenKernel.OpenHttp.Core devnet.plumtree.com PTSelectorThread_1313174751 com.plumtree.openkernel.impl.openhttp.core.OKIPLoadBalancer Marking ip address [###.###.###.###:80] down because there were [106] consecutive failures registered for it. <ptLogMsgEnd>


where ###.###.###.### is the ip address of the image server.
