Resolving IP address validation problems with ATG licenses (Doc ID 1037899.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Fact:
Some ATG license files are restricted to a single or list of particular IP(s) and will only work when they match the IP address(es) of the physical server.
Multi-homed servers (those with multiple IP addresses) may report a different primary IP address than what the license file contains.

Symptoms


2008-10-17 13:34:16,715 INFO [STDOUT] Validation of service: /DPSLicense failed:atg.service.dynamo.LicenseAddressMismatchException: atg.service.ServiceResources->ipDoesNotMatch : Your IP Address(es) (x.x.x.x) does not match any of the licensed addresses: 1.1.1.1, 2.2.2.2. Please contact license@atg.com to obtain a valid license.

To resolve problems with ATG license file validation of server IP address or addresses.
