Goal
This article describes how to wrap request processing in transactions to improve database performance. This may be necessary if you encounter one of the following symptoms:
High database CPU usage on Oracle due to latch free waits and enqueues with XA. Latch free waits are described in <Document 34576.1>.
10x latency increase with XA on MS SQL Server
Oracle ATG 9.0 and later versions require using XA database drivers.
