What are Booster Rules and how do I use them?

Changes

To determine is a booster rule should be used first ask: is there something special about the document that you want?

Is it an FAQ or a product manual?

Whatever it is, the more scalable way to manage this is to see if it's possible to boost the document type or page type, if it's possible to generalize that that type of page is general info or frequently useful. If so, you can create a search component that is a "booster" which lends 10 points to that type of page (e.g. using the TITLE as your IML expression, or some other characteristic). If there's no way to generalize why that document is special, then you use a managed answer rule. Best to do a rule that does a managed search, rather than a rule where you type in custom content.  There are different ways to implement rules.
