How do I delete a document from Information Manager?

Should documents actually be deleted?


For audit reasons and historical context reasons often implementations cannot allow users to delete documents or channels.  If the documents and channels should not be deleted the only way to control this is through user role setup and limiting who can delete documents and channels.  There is no audit information once documents and channels are deleted.  We recommend that a back up of the IM database be kept and then if articles have to be restored, they have to be restored manually, unless you revert to an older copy of the database.
