In prior releases there was inconsistent hard-coded http and https support in OOTB infocenter *.jsp

In 8.5 these inconsistencies have been fixed and there are just a few bugs as noted here that are also getting fixed.

SSL is also supported for everything except the database connection.  That is a known feature request.

Search results also only support one protocol.  Multiple application contexts are supported in the 8.5.1 release, but having https and http apps will require jsp changes to modify the protocol for now.  A feature request has been submitted for this support.  It is also common to terminate https at the loadbalancers which would allow all this to work over http.
