Oracle Knowledge DB Setup Best Practices
(Doc ID 1041145.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 18, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Knowledge - Version 8.0.x and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
For most customers, in the Production environment we recommend setting up two production databases. The first should be optimized for OLTP transactions, and would be used to house the IM, ContentStore, and AnswerFlow schemas. The second DB should be set up as a data warehouse, and houses the 6 Analytics schemas. If the installation has a small number of users and light load, then utilizing a single database to house all OKM schemas may work. If the installation has a very high volume of users and is performing near constant crawling, then a third database might be recommended. The third database would house only the ContentStore schema.
