Symptoms
When attempting to use a custom Java class (e.g., a CADK Java Manipulator component in a Forge pipeline, a custom Deployment Template component), the Java process fails with a java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError exception and a "Bad version number in .class file" error message.
In the case of a custom CADK adapter run through Forge, the exception will appear as an ERROR-level message in the Forge log, along these lines:
