Base CC&B Programs Creating Excessive INFO Messages In Log Files (Doc ID 1070237.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 18, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Framework - Version: 2.1.0 to 2.2.0 - Release: 2.1 to 2.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Some base programs create unnecessary INFO log messages which causes huge log files to be produced, especially if these algorithms are triggered by batch processes. This creation of log entries greatly affects the performance of these batch processes.

Examples
18:24:36,109 [main] INFO (com.splwg.ccb.domain.meterread.meterConfiguration.HighLowCalculationAlgorithmDriver_Impl:101) Return code: 0
18:24:36,125 [main] INFO (com.splwg.ccb.domain.meterread.meterConfiguration.HighLowCalculationAlgorithmDriver_Impl:101) High/Low Calculation Algorithm Driver Impl finished...
18:24:36,187 [main] INFO (com.splwg.ccb.domain.meterread.meterConfiguration.HighLowCalculationAlgorithmDriver_Impl:101) High/Low Calculation Algorithm Driver Impl started...

10:32:57,765 [CobolThread 1] INFO (com.splwg.ccb.domain.admin.billFactor.BillFactorValueInfoRetriever_Impl:101) Starting Retrieve BF Value Info

One scenario might be running the BILLING batch job for 100,000 bills, where each bill triggers the High Low Calculation Algorithm. Since the algorithm produce 3 lines per each Bill, it will generate 300,000 lines on the stdout file.
