Symptoms

Problem : Current sub-balance is impacted for a grant resource when usage from previous cycle is rated.

Setup : Product configuration is such that, for a resource (1000095) certain quantity is granted by a Monthly cycle Forward product and usage is done to impact that resource. Another resource (1000090) is configured to track and report the usage.

Below is the product configuration:

(1) 'MCF' product :

Tier 1
Resource ID                          Fxd Amt            Scl Amt             Rel Offset
-------------------------                  -------        --------           --------
Free Seconds[1000095]                (200)             0                     1

(2) 'Usage' product with a single tier but with two rates:

Tier 1
Rate 1
No Minimum - 0
Resource ID                            Fxd Amt             Scl Amt             Rel Offset
-------------------------           -------              -------                 ----------
Free Seconds[1000095]                0                       1                          0
KB Used[1000090]                       0                       1                          1

0 - No Maximum
Resource ID                             Fxd Amt              Scl Amt            Rel Offset
-------------------------             -------               -------               ----------
US Dollar[840]                             0                         1                         0
KB Used[1000090]                      0                         1                         1

Note In the 'Usage' product please note that resource which is granted (used for usage aggregation) has "Relative Cycle Offset" (RCO) set to '1' and resource meant for consumption has RCO "0".

Steps To Reproduce:

1. Create account on 1 Nov 2009 with 'MCF' and added 'Usage' product

Below are the sub-balances situation :

resource 1000095:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 -200

resource 1000090:
No sub-bal created. Pre-creation of the sub-bal will contain a rollover data that usage events don't have, and this will cause the pre-created sub-bal to not be used.

2. Rate usage for current cycle with quantity 100

resource 1000095:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 -100 <---- consumption from the correct sub-bal.
resource 1000090:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 100 <---- sub-bal created with end-date.

3. Run billing for account on 1 dec 2009

resource 1000095:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 -100
01-dec-2009 01-jan-2010 -200 <--- new grant for new cycle

resource 1000090:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 100 <--- unchanged. no new sub-bal created.

4. Rate usage for current cycle with quantity 100

resource 1000095:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 -100
01-dec-2009 01-jan-2010 -100 <--- consumption from the correct sub-bal.

resource 1000090:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 100
01-dec-2009 01-jan-2010 100 <--- sub-bal created for current cycle.

5. Rate usage for previous cycle with quantity 100

resource 1000095:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 0 <--- consumption from previous cycle.
01-dec-2009 01-jan-2010 -100

resource 1000090:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 100
01-dec-2009 01-jan-2010 200 <------- Not expected.

The aggregation for resource 1000090 was for the current cycle instead of the previous cycle in step 5.

The expected result for it should be:
Valid from Valid To Available
01-Nov-2009 01-dec-2009 200
01-dec-2009 01-jan-2010 100
